The David F. McClure Company

The story began in 1979, when David McClure, an experienced HVAC installer and estimator, saw an opportunity to fulfill his dream of entrepreneurship while also providing a higher level of heating and cooling service throughout the Harrisburg area.

As his wife, Sheryl, provided financial stability for the family working full-time as a nurse, David began laying the foundation for what would become a respected family business. Together, they created not only a livelihood for their family, but opportunities for customers, employees, and the next generation.

“My dad was out turning wrenches. But eventually, he got the business to the point where he was not working in the business, he was working on the business," said Justin McClure, current Daflure President and second-generation owner.

"It was a tricky balance," Justin said, "but my parents were able to successfully transition from 'just providing themselves a job' to providing a greater opportunity for the New Cumberland and Central PA community overall. They invested in their employees, supported local nonprofits, and provided superior service than their competitors."

A New Name and a New Chapter

In 2000, David transitioned leadership of the family business to Justin, the oldest of their four children.

With this transition came an opportunity to continue building on the company’s reputation while creating a stronger identity in the marketplace. That vision led to the name Daflure, derived from David F. McClure, Justin's father and original owner.

The new name honored David’s legacy while also giving the company a sharper brand presence and a strong foundation for future growth.

Even though the name changed, the values of the business remained exactly the same: dependable service, honest relationships, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Expanding into Commercial and Industrial Services

In late 2010, Daflure announced the merger and long-term acquisition of O.L. Jacobs’ Sons, a privately held, family-owned commercial and industrial mechanical services provider.

Founded in 1945 by Otto Lee Jacobs, O.L. Jacobs’ Sons had already built a respected reputation as a third-generation business deeply rooted in family values, quality workmanship, and lasting customer relationships.

Where Daflure is Today

Today, Daflure continues to serve homeowners and businessesthroughout Harrisburg and Central PA with trusted expertise in heating, cooling, boilers, geothermal, radiant floor heating, indoor air quality, and solar solutions.

While our tools, technology, and certifications have evolved over the years, the heart of our company has remained the same. We still believe in honest recommendations, dependable workmanship, and treating every customer the way we would want our own family treated.
